We built Your Service Book because we needed it ourselves. Not because the world was short on apps, but because none of the existing ones did what we actually wanted: tell us what maintenance our car needs, when it needs it, and keep a permanent record tied to the vehicle -- not to an account we'd forget the password to in six months.

We tried spreadsheets. We tried the glove box folder stuffed with receipts. We tried manufacturer apps that only tracked dealer visits. Nothing worked well enough to stick with. So we built the thing we kept wishing existed.

What Your Service Book Does

At its core, Your Service Book is a maintenance tracker built around your specific vehicle. You add your car -- by VIN, by year/make/model, or by scanning your VIN with your phone's camera -- and we generate a personalized maintenance schedule based on manufacturer recommendations for that exact vehicle.

Not a generic "change your oil every 5,000 miles" list. A schedule that accounts for your make, model, engine, and the maintenance intervals your manufacturer actually specifies. Because a turbocharged four-cylinder and a naturally aspirated V6 don't have the same needs, even if they're in the same model year.

From there, everything flows naturally:

Log services as you complete them. Oil change, tire rotation, brake job -- log it with the date, mileage, cost, and any notes. Your service history builds over time into a complete record of everything done to that vehicle.

See what's coming up. Based on your current mileage and the services you've already logged, we show you exactly what's due now and what's approaching. No more guessing whether you're overdue for a 60,000-mile service or wondering when the brake fluid was last flushed.

Get cost estimates. Before you schedule a service, see what it typically costs for your specific vehicle. No more walking into a shop blind and hoping the quote is reasonable.

Track warranty status. Know exactly when your factory warranty, powertrain warranty, and any extended coverage expires -- by date and mileage. No more discovering your warranty lapsed two months ago.

Recall Alerts That Actually Work

We pull recall data directly from NHTSA and check it against your VIN. When a recall is issued that affects your vehicle, you'll know about it. Not when you happen to remember to check the NHTSA website, and not when a letter eventually arrives at an address you may have moved away from. You'll see it in your dashboard the next time you open the app.

This matters more than most people realize. Millions of vehicles on the road right now have unrepaired safety recalls. The notification system is broken -- it relies on physical mail sent to the registered owner's address, which fails every time a car changes hands or an owner moves. We wanted something better, so we built it in from the start.

Connected Car: Your Vehicle, Synced Automatically

This is the feature we're most excited about. If you drive a 2015 or newer vehicle from one of over 36 supported brands, you can connect your car directly to Your Service Book. No hardware. No OBD-II dongle. No Bluetooth adapter. Your vehicle's built-in cellular connection does all the work.

Once connected, your mileage syncs automatically. That means your maintenance schedule updates itself based on your actual odometer reading -- not a guess you entered three weeks ago. It also pulls fuel level, battery state of charge for EVs, and other data points your manufacturer makes available.

The connection is strictly read-only. We cannot send commands to your vehicle, unlock doors, start engines, or control anything. We read data. That's it. You can learn more about how it works in our Connected Car guide.

Every subscription plan includes connected vehicles: Standard includes 1, Pro includes 2, and Ultimate includes 3. If you need more, additional connections are available for $2.49/month each.

VIN Scanning

Adding a vehicle should take seconds, not minutes of hunting through dropdown menus. Point your phone's camera at the VIN on your windshield or door jamb, and we decode it instantly -- year, make, model, engine, transmission, and manufacturing details. One scan and your vehicle is set up with the correct maintenance schedule.

We wanted pricing that felt fair and straightforward. Your Service Book starts at $2.99 per month for the Standard plan, and every plan comes with a free first month so you can try it with your actual vehicle before committing.

There are three tiers:
